encouragement to press into Jesus as we press on in life
advent: the gift of presence
What about our days that are busy, packed and even scattered, running here and there? Is there a way for us to remain in a restful state of peace and full presence despite what is going on around us? Is this even possible?
are our days on repeat?
Do these pandemic days matter? Is there purpose to their seemingly repetitive nature? These were thoughts that cycled through my mind not that long ago. God graciously used some friends one night to remind me of His truth and how to practically walk in it in a fresh way.
have you? experiencing the transforming power of scripture
“I’m not really a good person” a friend shared. “I do love Jesus, but at times, my heart can be hard, ugly and not wanting to be kind.” I get it…her words resonated. At times, I have found myself feeling similar…have you?
special edition: COVID-19 grace NOT to fear part 2
We see this displayed all around. Words, emotions, actions are dramatically magnified during times of crises. Everything can seem so loud, fear-injecting, not really beneficial for anyone…could that be said of today? How do we combat this? How do we live in the world, but NOT of the world?….
special edition: COVID-19: grace NOT to fear Part 1
It’s everywhere…whether or not we want to talk about it, Coronavirus seemingly infiltrates our conversations, news broadcasts, and social media feeds.
reconciling expectations
Often times our expectations can limit… they can restrict what we experience, set “the tone” for our day, or even hinder God’s desired work. What if our expectations or pre-conceived ideas were lowered or even intentionally “unset”? How might the Lord work in this newly opened and available space of both our time and hearts?
love: demanding versus inviting
Our love CAN be our greatest testimony of a changed life to those around us…is it?
The old song, “They will know we are Christians by our love”.
Does this still ring true today?
Or do our lifestyles suggest otherwise?
a new year…a grace filled take
A new year beckons renewed hope, a fresh start, pages of empty calendars awaiting plans. Alongside this refreshment, we can also feel the weight resolutions, goals, and changes we commit to, can bring…
2020
2020…even the year prompts us to think upon our sight; our vision. How well do we see? Not “seeing” in the everyday connotation of the word, but seeing as Jesus sees. I am looking forward to this year and what He would have for us as we revisit basic principles but from a different sight.
